Description of our project

After the COVID-19 outbreak turned into a Pandemic, education in Turkey, as in the rest of the world, was greatly affected by this epidemic and as a precaution, all schools were immediately closed in March 2020. The Ministry of National Education (MEB) adapted to this process in a very short time, for which it was caught unprepared, and began to increase the quality of publications. In August 2020, it was announced that the opening of schools was postponed until September and that distance education would continue until the end of the spring semester. Our Ministry achieved a significant success in a very short time and succeeded in taking the distance education practices to the next level with thousands of live classroom applications. carried out by our Ministry
The distance education process differs according to school levels and age groups. In these different age groups, there is a disadvantaged group that is excluded from the distance education process and they cannot benefit from this process. There are approximately 262 thousand students who have learning difficulties and are registered as mainstreaming students in our country. In our Karaman Province, 867 of 47998 students are special education students. It has been recorded by expert psychologist reports that 323 of these students have Mathematics Learning Disability. Thanks to the project; similar
To identify the reasons that prevent our project partners who have problems and our students who have difficulties in learning Mathematics from being successful in Mathematics,
-We evaluate our students' levels step by step using an inductive approach.
To produce a 'Mobile Application' that will enable students to increase their mathematics skills and increase their Mathematics proficiency through this application, -
With the 'Mobile Application', which will be the intellectual output of our project, we aim to support our students' Basic Mathematics skills with game-based Mathematics teaching and to contribute to increasing their Mathematics course success after the distance education process. Our students who are thought to have Mathematics Learning Difficulty (Dyscalculi) in our current education system
The school sends it to the Guidance Research Center and diagnoses it there. If a student is found to have Dyscalculi, a letter is sent to the school asking them to open a 'Support Education Room' and give extra lessons during their current teachers' extracurricular hours. The problem starts right here. Current teachers are specially trained for those students. Since they have not received any education, they are trying to solve the student's problem with the traditional teaching method. However, the main problem of students with Dyscalculi stems from their inability to perceive numbers like their peers. Distance education.
Since all course materials and live lesson presentations put a standard student at the center during this process, our students with Mathematics learning difficulties have not benefited from the Pandemic process. Thanks to the 'Mobile Application', which we plan to be the intellectual output of our project, we have used the 'Dyscalculi' test to primarily diagnose students with Mathematics learning difficulties. We will use Separator. The 'Dyscalculi Screener' is a tool for diagnosing Dyscalculi developed by Butterwooth. This tool consists of a set of time-limited elements.
With these elements and the evaluation scale, our students will have the opportunity to be diagnosed with Mathematics Learning Disability. After the student is diagnosed with Dyscalculi on the application, the 1st stage, which aims to improve the student's Mathematics proficiency at 6 levels, will begin.
